This website is presented as an independent prototype. “University of Ilorin” is used to identify the mapped campus context; this site must not be described as an official University service without written authorization from the University and permission to use its name, marks, data, and content.
2. What the current site collects
The viewer has no account, checkout, newsletter or standalone analytics system. Location Services requests device location after you choose a location action or start a beta walkpath recording. Your position is used in this browser and is not sent to this project server. Beta recordings store coordinates, GPS accuracy, timestamps, names and notes locally, including unfinished drafts. You can pause, discard, delete or export recordings. Saved places, issue reports and campus review drafts also remain on this device until deleted or site data is cleared. Photo files chosen in the review editor stay local until you export and publish them. The viewer does not request your name, email address, phone number, camera, microphone or contacts.

3. Purposes and legal bases
For the current build, browser-only processing is necessary to provide the map interface. Hosting security logs may be processed for security, abuse prevention, and service delivery, subject to the host’s terms and the operator’s documented retention period. Google AdSense advertising is optional and loads only after you allow advertising in Privacy choices. Declining leaves the campus map available.
4. Data sources and third parties
Map assets are bundled locally. The viewer links to OpenStreetMap’s attribution page but does not embed an external map, video, social widget, standalone analytics tag, or remote font. The model and data also contain OpenStreetMap-derived context, Microsoft building-footprint-derived additions, and operator-provided placemarks. These are site content, not data collected from visitors.
When you follow an external link, the destination may process your data under its own notice. Review that destination before using it.
Google AdSense advertising
When you allow advertising, this site loads Google AdSense. Google and its partners may receive your IP address, browser and device information and page information, and may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve, personalize and measure ads and prevent fraud. This app does not pass your campus GPS coordinates or saved routes to AdSense. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s cookie information. Change or withdraw your choice using Privacy choices; withdrawal reloads the page without the ad script. Clear existing cookies using your browser settings.
5. Your rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable law, you may have rights to be informed, access, correct, erase, restrict or object to certain processing, portability, and withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Contact the operator using the real privacy contact above once it is configured. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
6. Children
The site has no account or child-directed data collection. Do not submit a child’s personal data through any future form unless the operator has established an appropriate lawful basis and safeguards.
7. Security and international transfers
Use HTTPS in production, keep dependencies and the hosting service patched, limit server-log access, and document any processors or international transfers. This static repository alone cannot verify the production host’s security, transfer mechanism, backups, or breach-response process.
8. Changes
We may update this notice when the site, data sources, vendors, or law changes. Publish a new “last updated” date and notify users when a change materially affects their rights.
